Nearly 1,000 rescued in Philippines ferry accident

A enormous ferry capsized in the Philippines. The wreck costs the live to nine people and the other 957 occupants were rescued by Philippines’s coast guard. Some passengers said that the ship was overload, that’s a really serious accusation, but the Philippines coast guard said that there weren’t hazardous cargo on board.

The ferry was bound for lloilo city, but survivors were moved to a nearby location; there they colud get medical attention and others forms of assistance. Some investigations will be conducted after rescue operations.

It was one of the major incident that involves this kind of vessels. In the last three years, before in 2006 and 2007, some accidents like this have hapened, but whitout fatalities reported.

The coast guard promise carry to extremes the security measures on all the ships, in order to prevent casual disasters. People said that these measures never will be enough.
